Forensic Evaluations

Our practice has offered forensic services to attorneys and courts for 40 years. In the field of criminal law, our practice offers mitigation evaluations, risk assessments for both violent and sexually inappropriate behaviors, competency and sanity evaluations, as well as evaluations for defendants charged with child molestation, internet solicitation of minors, child pornography, and various other criminal offenses.

In the field of civil law, our practice offers interdiction evaluations, child custody evaluations, parenting evaluations, coerced or false confessions evaluations, parenting coordination services, supervised visitation, psychological evaluations following a traumatic event or injury, as well as work place harassment, and/or wrongful terminations.

Counseling

We provide counseling and psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, and children. In addition to individual therapy, we offer family and couples counseling, parent coaching classes, and anger management. Our male and female psychologists and counselors are trained in a variety of theoretical approaches and counseling techniques. Our mental health professionals work with each client to develop an individualized treatment plan that best fits their goals and needs.

Psychological Testing

We offer a full range of psychological evaluations dependent upon referral questions. These evaluations include assessments of intellectual functioning, academic achievement, adaptive functioning/life skills, and personality styles. Interviews, testing, record reviews, and other measures are used to understand each client’s functioning, to provide accurate diagnoses when appropriate, and aid in effective treatment planning.

Parent Coordination

As parenting coordinators, we assist separated and divorced parents in resolving disagreements regarding parenting and coordinating care of their children. These services are typically utilized in high-conflict custody cases, with the purpose of decreasing litigation, increasing child-focused decision making, and encouraging quality communication and respect between parents.

Psychoeducational Assessment

Psychoeducational assessment is a comprehensive battery of tests that measures intellectual abilities, academic achievement, language, adaptive skills, and social-emotional functioning. Results of standardized tests, combined with observations and background information, are used to detect learning differences, specific learning disorders, developmental disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and other conditions. These assessment results are useful for developing educational plans and are often used to obtain accommodations in school and on standardized tests, as well as determining a student’s eligibility for special education services.
